Wallace Howard

Wallace "Sonny" Howard, 72, lived at 515 State Street, Erie, Pa, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at UPMC-Hamot. He was born on August 11, 1952 in Columbus, MS. He was the son of the late Drewey Howard and Jannie Stepp Howard. Sonny has been a resident of Erie for 70 years. He graduated from Academy High School. Sonny worked on the railroad for 30 years and also did odd jobs throughout the years. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Sonny enhanced nice cars and also took pride in his appearance, everything always matched from head to toe.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Drewey Howard, Tommy T. Howard, Sr. and Anthony Duane Howard, all of Erie, Pa.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a sister, Betty "Opree" Jones Ellis of Erie, Pa and a brother, Christopher Howard of Chicago, IL, a very close friend, Pamela Wells of Erie, Pa, along with seven bonus children, Bruce Asbery, Toya Wells, Durfey Wells, Eisha Wells, Kitta Wells, Creyon Wells and Emmanuel Wells, all of Erie, Pa and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at Davis-Garr Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., 459 East 12th Street, Erie, Pa 16503 on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 10:00 am until the time of his funeral service at 12:00 pm officiated by Pastor Durfey Wells.  Burial will be in Erie Cemetery.
