Tommie Young, Jr., 93, of Erie, Pa transitioned to be with the lord on July 13, 2024, at The Village at Luther Square. He was born in Shaw, Miss, son of the late Tommie and Annie Rose (Davis) Young, Sr.
Tommy accepted Christ into his life at an early age, he served time in the U.S. Army for many years, later he met and married the love of his life Annie Young and they were married for over 70 years. Tommie retired from the LORD Corporation, where he worked as a welder. He was the eldest of 16 children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Ethel young, Susie Bradley and Annie B Young, his brothers, Jerry, Jesse, James, Ozie, Willy, Richard, John and Spencer. He leaves to cherish his memories, a beautiful and loving wife, Annie Rose young of Erie, Pa, one sister, Lucy Carter of Shaw, Mississippi, 3 brothers, Charlie Young and Moses Young of Cleveland, Mississippi, Clyde Young of Shaw, Mississippi and his sister-in-law, Mother Luella “Sis” Carr of Erie, Pa and a host of nieces and nephews. Our dear one was called away and he has gone with the Lord to stay. Although his passing may make us weep we rejoice that our loved one as he rest safe in God’s hands. Rest in heaven our dear brother we love you, your sister, brothers and family.
Relatives and friends are invited to Greater Calvary Full Gospel Baptist Church, 2624 German Street, Erie, Pa 16504 on Friday, July 19, 2024, from 11:00 am until the time of his Homegoing Service at 12:00 noon, with Pastor Colin G.
