Thomas Earl Allen, age 60, of Erie, PA, transitioned from this life to his heavenly home on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
Tommy was born on July 20, 1965, in Erie, PA, to his beloved parents, the late Craig Allen and Betty Allen Watson. In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Verlee Knight; his paternal grandparents, Ovie and Ruth Allen; his stepfather, George Watson; and two sons, Scott Williams and William (Scooter) Allen.
Tommy was a proud graduate of Tech Memorial High School, Class of 1984. He went on to attend Morgan State University on football and wrestling scholarships. During his high school wrestling career, Tommy was a four-time state qualifier, a three-time state placer, and the 1983 champion in the 145-pound AAA division. His career record was 131-11-1. His football career was equally impressive, earning him recognition as a two-time All-Metro running back. He also was All State several times in track, solidifying his reputation as one of the best athletes in Erie during the 1980s.
After his time in school, Tommy dedicated himself to helping others as a drug and alcohol counselor. He was passionate about life and was known for his love of sneakers, his enthusiasm for football (especially as a dedicated Raiders fan), wrestling, fishing, and, of course, his mother's famous banana pudding.
But more than anything, Tommy was best known for his boundless love, kindness, and generosity. His heart was as big as his talents, and he cherished his family, friends, and the Erie community.
Tommy is survived by his loving family: one brother, Michael (Tammy) Allen; three sisters, Ebony Wardell, Anjaleigh Prescott, and Stacey (Ricky) Crenshaw; six children: Terricca (Caprice) Hall, Janelle Allen, Ashley Tate, Paige Williams, Thomas C. Allen, and Tyler Allen; a close-knit circle of friends, including Garry Williams, Steve Simmelkjaer, Leon Harvard, Brent Taylor, and Francine Babcock; his special family friend, Loudella Clark; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A public viewing will be held at Davis-Garr Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., 459 East 12th Street, Erie, PA, 16503, on Monday, November 24, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be private at Erie Cemetery.
Tommy's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
