Shirley Olson

Shirley Ann Daniels Olson, age 87, entered eternal rest at her home on Saturday, September 4, 2021 surrounded by her grandchildren, Brittanie, Veronica, Travis, dogs (Hunny, Blaze, Vanilla), and a wonderful family friend, Lisa Askins. She was born and raised in Erie, PA to the late Andrew J. Daniels and Anna (Stucka) Daniels.

Shirley was a beautiful soul who dedicated her all to her family. She lived in Butler county with her children in 1971 and was recognized for her work within the Mars Area School District as one of only 40 women volunteer aides that assisted teachers in the classroom and tutored students one-on-one.

When she moved back to Erie in 1975, Shirley married the love of her life, Charles Olson. Charles passed away on 9/3/2019, she loved him forever and a day. She enjoyed vacationing out west with him, visiting family, and playing the slots in Vegas. She was an avid reader, seamstress, and always made sure she was up to date on politics/news. One of her favorite past times was sitting around a campfire with her granddaughters, family, and friends, enjoying nature.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Shirley is preceded in death by two brothers William and John Daniels, her beautiful daughter Debra Aaron, and the dear Tina Strieder Potter.

She is survived by her brother Andrew J. Daniels II, daughters Anne Rogers, Nanci Wright, Donna Olson, Marcy Conrady, one son Sam Wright (Joann), grandchildren Brittanie Wright (Travis Hanson), Veronica Wright, Jessica (Tom and GG Baby Henry) Sanner, cousin Barb (Frank) Potter. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Davis-Garr Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc. will be handling arrangements. Honoring Shirley's wishes, the family will have a private memorial service at a later date. Memorials may be made in her memory to hospice umpc and umpc Hillman cancer center.
