Shirley Cook

Shirley Ann Cook was born September 9, 1944, in Farrell PA to Dave Levi Scott and Helen Rebecca Scott. Shirley unexpectedly passed away February 12, 2024, at LECOM Senior Living Center in Erie PA.

Shirley was a longtime resident of Farrell PA where she was a member of Community Baptist Church and Greater Mount Zion. Spreading her love and kindness to her children, many nieces and nephews, and grandchildren. Shirley was known for her singing, laughter, and one-liners, which left you with deep belly-aching laughter. Moving to Erie PA in 2015 Shirley became a member of the Greater Calvary Church where she continued to touch those she met and left an impression that would never be forgotten. The loving staff of LECOM Senior Living Center provided exceptional love and care for their staff and Nurse Rainey cared for my mother from the time she moved into LECOM until her passing.

Shirley was preceded in death by her Father Dave Scott and Mother Helen Scott. Husband George Cook, Daughter Rachel Davis (Cook), Brother William Scott, Sister Willie Lee Bryant. Survived by Daughter Yvonne Jones (Vincent Ward) of Alexandria VA, Daughter Halima Bibi Shazia (Ardena Cook) of Lancaster New Hampshire, Daughter Alice Faye (Rodney) Lee of St Mary’s Georgia, Son George Cook of Milwaukee Wisconsin, Sister Lovertta Scott Freeman of Pittsburgh, Pa and Brother David Lee Scott of California. Fourteen grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Davis - Garr Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc. 459 East 12th Street, Erie, Pennsylvania 16503 on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 12:00 PM until the time of her Homegoing Celebration beginning at 2:00 PM.
