Ryan Alexander Obituary

It is with immense sadness that we share heartbreaking news. Ryan Alexander, husband, father, son, and brother passed away from the battle he fought so hard to win, and that we hoped or prayed so desperately that he would.

Ryan was born on the first day of spring in Union City, Pennsylvania.  Since that day he has pushed adversity out of his way like a spring flower. He emerged to touch so many lives with his humor, wisdom, and unwavering perseverance.

He was a driven man. His hard work and intestinal fortitude was demonstrated everyday through his love of his family, his friends, and his country. His legacy will be carried forward by those who had the genuine privilege of knowing him.

Ryan graduated from Iroquois High School and Edinboro University and later joined the United States Air Force in defense of the United States of America.  Ryan has worked in trucking management for over a decade.  He was most recently employed by XPO Logistics, where he served as Erie’s Terminal Manager.

Ryan was fiercely dedicated to his friends, always taking up cause in support of one of their needs or even just playing wingman to one of their crazy adventures.  His life will be an inspirational testament to what one can become with a curious spirit powered by unwavering resilience.

Ryan loved reggae, synth, old school hip-hop, and enjoyed music as part of his everyday life.  Anyplace his wife and kids were was Ryan's favorite place, but he sure did love Guam.  Ryan loved to box, hike, and to stay physically fit. He loved rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Chicago Bulls.

Ryan is survived by his devoted wife, Yvonne Alexander, his four young children, Shane, Sydney, Shamar, and Simone.  Also by his mother Beverly(Ann) Abata, his father Kenneth Alexander, and his siblings, Shaun Abata, Christopher Abata, and Carrie Martin.

Ryan is also survived by his god-daughter, Nia Thomas, his in-laws Albert and Mary Thomas, his brothers in-law Phillip (Marissa) and Jamie Thomas (Alexia), His sisters -in law Shantel Thomas (Rashad) and Tarhea Thomas, his closest friend (brother) Ryan Sasek, along with aunts, uncles, neices, nephews, and cousins too numerous to mention.

Waiting to see him again are his Great-Grandmother Helen Burdick, Grandmother Mary Bowman, Grandfather Carl Bowman, Grandmother Sabina Alexander, and first-cousin Theophilio Stonewall.

Relatives and friends are invited to Greater Bethlehem Temple Church, 4103 Washington Ave. Erie, Pennsylvania 16509 on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 10:00 AM to the time of service at 12:00 PM.
