Rubbie Thurston

Rubbie Thurston, 87 of Erie, Pa passed away on May 23, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born on August 29,1936 in Arkansas. He was the son of the late James and Exie Mae Holmes Thurston. 

Rubbie worked for 40 years as a cement finisher. He loved to hunt.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Dirk Thurston of Erie, Pa, Ruby Thurston of Austin, Tx, Margie Thurston Of Pittsburgh, Pa, Daryl Thurston of Erie, Pa, Jeffery Thurston of Ashtabula, Oh, Pam Thurston of Erie, Pa, Nicole Thurston of Pittsburgh, Pa, Brigette Logan of South Carolina, Toney Logan, Michel Logan and Sonia Logan all of Washington, D.C., Adrian Logan of Erie, Pa and Janet Logan of Cleveland, Oh. In addition, he is also survived by his god children, Holly and Jason Both.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert S. Thurston and his sister, Alda Mae Thurston Higgins.

Relatives and friends are invited to Davis-Garr Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., 459 E. 12th St., Erie, Pa 16503 on Sunday, June 2, 2024 from 10:00 am until the time of his funeral service at 12:00 pm. Burial will be private. Condolences may be sent to: davisgarrfuneralhome.com.
