Ronald Dodge Obituary

Ronald "Ron" Dodge, age 81, passed away on Saturday, March 23,2024, at St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by the people he loved.  He was born May 15, 1942, in Erie, to the late Roy and Helen (Zehner) Dodge.

  Ron served in the United States Army from 1960-1964 in Munich, Germany as an Automotive Repairman.  After his service, his many occupations included Donjon Shipbuilding and Erie Forge and Steel, from which he retired.  He enjoyed hunting deer and turkey, motorcycling, spending time outdoors, reminiscing about the past, making up jokes and visiting, petting and passing out treats at The ANNA Shelter.

  He was preceded in death by his son, Jeff; grandson, Eric; and, sister, MaryLou.

  He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Ollarek) Dodge, of Erie; brothers, Ray Dodge, of Erie, and Simon Dodge, of Jamestown, NY; daughters, Cheryl Ishman (Ray) of Waterford, Cynthia Kucenski (Donald) of Mill Village, Jennifer Olszewski (Paul) of Erie, Katie Krupinski of Erie, and Kirsten Yates (Mike) of Harrisville; grandchildren, Matt, Alisha, Amanda, Katelyn, Abbey, Taralyn, Alexis, Olivia, Bradley, Jacob, Shawn, Emily, Gerad, Darienne, and Justin; as well as 11 great-grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed by those whom loved him.

  In keeping with Ron's wishes, no services will be offered. Davis - Garr Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc. 459 East 12th Street, Erie, Pennsylvania 16503 has been entrusted with handling arrangements. In honor of his memory, donations can be made to The ANNA Shelter.
