Richard Peters, Jr. Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Richard Collom Peters Jr.—known to many as “Dicky”—who left us on November 12, 2025, at St. Vincent’s Hospital. Born in Greenville, PA, Dick spent his formative years in Conneaut Lake, a place that always held a special spot in his heart. He was the beloved son of Mary (Blanche) Peters and Richard C Peters.

Dick’s journey began at Greenville High School, where he forged lifelong friendships and discovered his love for drawing and design. After graduation, he put his talents to work as a drafter at Greenville Steele Car. When the plant closed, Dick’s resilience shone through—he transitioned to construction and carpentry, building not just structures, but a reputation for skill and integrity. He was, as many would say, “damn good at it”—a craftsman whose work stood the test of time.

But Dick’s legacy is so much more than his career. He was the heartbeat of every gathering, known for his kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering willingness to help anyone in need. Whether it was hunting in the woods, boating on Conneaut Lake, or carving fresh tracks at Holiday Valley Resort, Dicky lived life with joy and generosity. His stories—often told around a campfire or over coffee—were legendary, and his presence made every moment brighter.

Dick is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy (Khein) Peters, who was his partner in every adventure for the last 26 years. He leaves behind his son, Richard C Peters III, and daughter-in-law Karen (Ambrogi) Peters of Pittsburgh, PA; his daughter, Nicole M (Peters) McQuiston of Titusville, PA; and four cherished grandchildren: Paige McQuiston, Hailey McQuiston, Kyleigh Peters, and Owen Peters. Each of them carries a piece of Dick’s spirit—his warmth, humor, and love for life.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer of 2026 at Conneaut Lake, where family and friends will gather to share memories, laughter, and love in the place Dicky treasured most.

Rest in peace, dear husband, dad, grandpa, and friend. Your legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knows you. You will always be loved, remembered, and celebrated.
