Redella Starr Jones Obituary

Redella Starr Jones, lovingly known as “Red,” was born on July 5, 1986, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Redell Beasley and her mother, the late Starr Cobb..

Redella accepted Christ at an early age and attended Beautiful Gates Ministry in Cleveland, Ohio. She received her education through the Erie and Cleveland Public School systems. Redella later worked in retail sales and went on to serve in geriatric care, where her gentle spirit and compassion for others were evident.

Soft-spoken yet powerful in presence, Redella had an aura and personality that could quickly fill a room. She had an intense love for family and friends and was known for her kind heart. All who knew her loved her deeply.

Redella was united in holy matrimony to Shantell Jones on March 27, 2017. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her husband, especially their date nights together.

Redella leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Shantell Jones; her father, Redell Beasley, Auntie, Ma/ Yvette Jennings; six sisters, La’Vere Jennings, Keisha Jennings, Yvette Jennings Jr., Latoya Crittenden, Roberta Crittenden, and Danielle Crittenden; four brothers, Asante Jennings, Redell Beasley, Daniel Beasley, and Roy Crittenden.

She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers:Rhaushida  Cobb, Rondale Jennings, and Roosevelt Cobb.

She also leaves to mourn her passing her father- and mother-in-law, Mr. Ronnie Sr. Mrs.Edna Knight, three sisters-in-laws,four brothers-in-laws,and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family members, and dear friends.

Redella truly had the biggest heart, and her love for her family and friends will never be forgotten.

Relatives and friends are invited to the House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church of Erie, 155 East 21st Street, Erie, Pa 16503 on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 11:00 AM until the time of her Homegoing Service beginning at 12:00 PM with Apostle Hocea McGill officiating; Burial will follow at Erie Cemetery.
