Raymond Dodge Obituary

Raymond L. Dodge, 80, passed after a brief illness on February 1, 2025, born November 5, 1944, he was the son of the late Roy & Helen Dodge. Raised in Summit Township he graduated from Fort LeBouf High School class of 1962 – vocational study. Upon graduating from High School he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War area with a tour of duty in South Korea. He received the National Defense & Korean Defense service medals. Shortly after his release from the military he started employment with American Sterilizer Company later Steris retiring in 2006 after 41 years of service most of the time working in the assembly and test departments. In 1965 he met the love of this life, the late Joyce Marjorie Bahm. They met through friends on a blind date later to marry in March of 1974. They were able to spend a little over 45 years as best friends and partners sharing good times and supporting each other in the bad. Joyce gave him a purpose in life and they shared the same values. Ray was also very particular with food and after Joyce passed no food ever made was “as good as Joyces”, no one could compare to her or her cooking. The couple had two daughters Rebecca Deitz and Elena Dodge.

Ray and Joyce spent many years helping raise their grandchildren and often thought of them as their “second kids”, Ray loved watching how loving and caring Joyce was with the kids and he enjoyed walking them to the park so they could play for hours.

Survived by his daughters Rebecca Deitz (Ed) and Elena Dodge (Josh), Ray and Joyces pride and joy their grandchildren Kylene Cotton (Jeff), Seth Aikens II (Abby), Karsen Dodge (Karla), Aubrey Leonard, Kristopher Leonard, Cole Bennett, four great grandchildren Lucas Aikens, Alaina Aikens, Allen G. Aikens and Liberty Aikens and three fur-grandbabies Keno, Aria & Nitro. His Brother Simon Dodge, Jamestown NY, Sister-In-Law Ruth Dodge who also was his wonderful caretaker.

Proceeded in death by his love Joyce Marjorie Dodge now finally reunited, his brother Ronald Dodge and his sister Mary Lou Rosenburg.

The family would like to thank Rays wonderful neighbors - Robin before her passing, Debbie, Jen, Josh, Amy and her girls who kept him company, brought dinners and thoughtful gifts to brighten his days, Heartland hospice, his nurse Kat and the staff as well as his caretakers Ruthie, Renee & Sophia. Per his wishes there will be no service.
