Otis Williams Obituary

Otis Lee Williams, 74 of Erie passed away peacefully after an extended illness at LECOM at Village Square on May 31, 2026. He was born February 17, 1952, in Homestead, PA to the late Geraldine Williams and Otis McKinley.

Otis attended the Erie Public Schools. He worked several years at Erie Coke as a Laborer. Otis accepted Christ at an early age and was a prior member of Bethlehem Temple Church under the leadership of the late Bishop Curtis Naylor Sr. and First Lady Martha Naylor. Otis enjoyed playing pool and chess. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Otis was best known for selling flowers in the Erie Community and often gifted just as many as he sold. Otis never met a stranger, and his generosity was his character trait.

In addition to his parents, Otis was preceded in death by three brothers, Alphonso, Robert and Richard Williams, sister Rosetta Williams, granddaughter Taneaka Jackson and maternal grandparents Richard and Anna (Cox) Williams.

He leaves to cherish his legacy, his only son, Shannon Jackson, sister Melissa Williams, two grandchildren; Carter Jackson and Travon Jackson-Pilgrim, great granddaughter, Elaina Pilgrim, an Aunt Rev. Beverly Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.

Otis’ favorite scripture was John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
