Martha Evans Obituary

Martha J. Evans, age 73, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 12, 2021. She was born on January 9, 1948 to her loving parents, the late Joseph Earl Evans, Sr., and the late Lily Mae Evans.

Martha is a Cancer survivor & a true testimony. She loved fast dancing, the Pittsburgh Steelers, playing cards, knitting in her early years & going to concerts. She jokingly was called the family Facebook police.

Martha graduated from Academy High School in Erie & also had further technical training in other states. She moved to Virginia for over 20 years & relocated back to Erie. Her last place of employment was at Agility BPS. She was a member of House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church & she enjoyed attending church services prior to her illness.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children;

Lisa Marie Williams; Tamisha Jordan;

Bonny Ray Jordan II (Michelle); Dena Jordan;

Dawn Shealey (Michael) & Felicia Page

Martha is the oldest of her siblings, Mary C. Evans;

Joseph E. Evans, Jr., Lily Mae Evans; & Yolanda Carter.

Martha has 31 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren & has many cousins, nieces, nephews & friends.

She was preceded in death by her son,

Brion Jordan (Rhodeesha); two grandsons: Tabari C. Anthony & Cahlee Jordan & her brother, Ronald Lee Evans.

Family and friends will be received Friday, September 24, 2021 at the House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 155 E 21st St, Erie, PA, 16503, 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm. Also will be Saturday, September 25th, 10am till the time of Martha's Homegoing service beginning at 11am at Second Baptist Church, 757 E 26th St, Erie, PA, 16504 . Martha's final resting place will be at Lakeside Cemetery with her mother & her Martin & Evans Families.

Martha’s repass will be held at Trend Setters, 1225 East 26th St. following interment.

Davis-Garr Cremation and Funeral Services Inc., 459 E. 12th St. Erie, PA, 16503 is handling arrangements.
