Laritha Vactor

Laritha B. Vactor, 91, of Erie, went to be with the Lord on September 17, 2021, at Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center.  Born August 13, 1930, in Erie, she was the daughter of the late Eulah and Cora (Klekley) Battle, Sr.

She was a member of Mt. Zion Seventh Day Adventist Church.  Laritha loved playing jump rope and hopscotch with her children and grandchildren.  She helped everyone she could however she could.  Laritha loved reading the Bible and dancing for the Lord.  She previously worked as an LPN at Hamot Medical Center.

She is survived by children: Dale Vactor of Erie, Kevin Vactor of Erie, Jeffery of Erie, Bruce Vactor of Longview, TX, Kim Vactor and wife Brenda of Huntsville, AL, Karen Vactor of Erie, Byron Vactor of Erie, Roger Vactor of Forest City, and Rodney Vactor of Erie; daughter-in-law, Mary B. Vactor; four sisters, Donna Battle of Erie, Bessie Franklin of Erie, Lois Elliot of Los Angeles, CA and JoAnn Battle of San Francisco, CA; a wonderful granddaughter, Katrina Tate of Charlotte, NC, who loved and cared for her: many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her beloved parents and husband of 57 years, George E. Vactor, she was preceded in death by a son, Craig R. Vactor, two brothers, Eulah C. Battle, Jr. and Isiah Battle and a sister, Dora Smith.

Family and friends will be received Thursday, September 23, 2021, from 10 AM until the hour of Service at Noon at Mt. Zion Seventh Day Adventist Church, 204 E. 24th Street, Erie PA 16503.

Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery.
