Karen A. Stablein

Karen Ann Stablein, 69, of Erie, Pa, passed away on January 9, 2026, at home. 

Karen was born on January 21, 1956, in Erie, Pa, daughter of the late Robert and Lucy (Corsi) Nordin.

She graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1974, she was an original Bay Rat. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching movies. Karen always made people laugh.

Karen leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Rebecca Stablein Lyons and her husband William, one sister, Terry Cooley, two brothers, Michael Nordin and Bruce Nordin and three grandchildren, Desiree Lyons, Deja Lyons and William Lyons, Jr. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Karen was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Stablein, an infant son, Robert Hovis, siblings, Pamela Nordin, Bonnie Nordin Grack, Robert Nordin and a grandson, Tyrone Mims.

Relatives and friends are invited to Davis-Garr Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., 459 East 12th Street, Erie, Pa 16503 on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 1:00 pm until the time of her service at 3:00 pm. Burial will be private. Please send condolences to: davisgarrfuneralhome.com.
