Joseph P. Young

Joseph Patrick Young, 81, of Erie, Pa passed away on March 5, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Buffalo, NY on February 14, 1944, son of the late Clarence and Agnes (Geisel) Young.

Joe retired as a foreman from Con Rail. He was a diehard Buffalo Bills fan and was past president of the "Good Looker's Club". 

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty (Pekela) Urch, his children, Bridget DeSanti (Michael), Leslie First (William) and Wesley Urch, all of Erie, Pa, his grandchildren, Alexandra DeSanti (Jordan Frick) of Erie, Pa, Rachel DeSanti of Erie, Pa, Sierra First of Erie, Pa, Nevada First (Elijah) of Connecticut and Brandon First of Erie, Pa, and two great grandchildren, Beckham DeSantis and Ritter Turner, his siblings, Mary Young of Rhode Island, Anne Young of Florida, Henry Young (Marge), Claire Young 6of Florida, his sister-in-law, Linda Young of Florida and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by Elizabeth Whipple and the late Arthur Whipple and Christopher Young.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
