Johnathan Devaer Johnson was born in Erie, Pa on September 27, 1974 and transitioned on May 6, 2026. He spent his entire life growing into a well-rounded and gifted man.
Johnathan loved music, taking walks and cooking. He was a very good chef. He also loved rapping where he earned the name D-Who. He attended Erie County Day School, where he graduated from.
Johnathan was a member of the Abundant Life Church of Erie under the leadership of Pastor Kevin Nelson where he served as a door greeter for many years. Johnathan was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alice Gray Johnson and a brother, John Johnson, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his only child, Sierra Johnson of Erie, PA, his father, John Johnson and his wife Deirdre of Lynchburg, VA, his siblings, Dianna Little of Akron, OH, Paulette Scott of Greensboro, NC, Mary Ann Johnson of CO, Johnnie Mae Johnson of Akron, OH, Deborah Ann Johnson of Miami, FL and Tracy Burnett of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by his favorite aunts, A. Bishop and Rosie Glover, his best buddy and side kick, Jermaine Gray and a host of family and friends whom he shared his life with. Whenever you hear or see the Jacksonville Jaguars, think of Johnathan, this was his favorite team.
Relatives and friends are invited to Davis-Garr Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., 459 East 12th Street, Erie, Pa 16503 on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 11:00 am until the time of his service at 12:00 pm with Pastor Kevin Nelson officiating.
