John Stephen Thomas Sr.

John Stephen Thomas, Sr., 64, of Erie, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at his residence. He was born in Erie, Pa on September 21, 1958, son of the late James Thomas and Laura (Cunningham) Thomas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and James Thomas and one aunt, Geraldine Cunningham.

John served in the United States Navy. He worked for G.E. and Welch's. He was an avid Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia 76ers fan. He enjoyed cooking, watching game shows, fishing, spending time with family and friends including his best friend, Chris Weist.

John is Survived by two sons John Stephen Thomas Jr and Jamie Thomas of Erie Pa One daughter Laura Thomas of Jackson Tennesse. Two grandchildren Kavion and Amira Thomas of Erie Pa. Siblings Mary Nell Thomas, Vernee Durr, Janice Thomas, David (Lynette)Thomas and Deborah Taylor-Byrd all of Erie Pa. In Addition, he is survived by many Nieces & Nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Davis-Garr Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., 459 East 12th Street, Erie, Pa 16503 from 11 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Please send condolences to davisgarrfuneralhome.com.
