John Lee Stapp

John “Speedy” Stapp would like to let you know his work here has been completed on January 14, 2025.

John was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on August 7, 1961, to the late Deacon James Stapp and Lula Mae Stapp.

John was a loving family man, and he had his own way to show that love, not just to his family, but anyone he came across and called ‘friend.”

John worked and specialized at Master Tuxedo, Franks Dry Cleaner, and Tom Chidos Dry Cleaner. On January 14, 2025, he met the lord and was reunited with many family members and friends he hasn’t seen in a very long time.

John was very proud and deserving of his new home, specifically, the hard wood floors that he appreciated so much.

Speedy had his own way of showing love for all. Yes, it might not have been the same way, but all the love was the same.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his two brothers, Jerry and Charles, niece Sherika, stepdaughter, Simone and stepson Bryan.

 John loved to play spades, dress and listen to old school music and make people smile and laugh.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Kathy Ellis Stapp, First wife and mother of his son John, Rose Warren Stapp, three stepdaughters, Keyia (Darren), Kelina and Patricia, and one stepson, Nick. He also leaves behind his siblings, Anna Ruth (Larry), Rev. James (Helen), Rev. Percy (Suzanne), Mary Ann, Ella Mae, Annette, Terry “Big Man”, Rose Marie, Ruthie, Linda (Jerome) of Cleveland, OH., Antonio (Aisha), godson Rashad, and a host of grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and special friend, Mama Lyons.  

Speedy was one of a kind and loved by many.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Davis – Garr Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc. Relatives and friends are invited to Dusckas Funeral Services, Inc.  536 West 10th Street, Erie, Pennsylvania 16502 on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of his Homegoing Celebration at 12:00 PM with Pastor Duane Hunter Officiating.
