John Gavin

John Douglas Gavin, 65, of Erie, Pa, transitioned on July 30, 2025, at his residence. John was born in Erie, Pa on May 26, 1960, son of the late Brooks and Bessie (Marshall) Gavin.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Bryan Gavin, Tamberia Reeves, Nicole Gordon and April Rogers, all of Erie, Pa, his siblings, Annie Allen of South Carolina, Bessie Gavin of Erie, Pa and Daniel Gavin of Atlanta, Ga. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, two great grandchildren, the matriarch, his aunt Rachel McKee, a host of nieces and nephews, family, friends and his best friend, James Dice.

In addition to his parents, John was also preceded in death by his brothers, James Gavin, Brooks Gavin, Eugene Gavin, Perce Gavin, Willie Frank Gavin and Charles Gavin.

Relatives and friends are invited to Davis-Garr Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., 459 East 12th Street, Erie, Pa 16503 on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 11:00 am until the time of his service at 12:00 noon. Burial will be private. Please send condolences to: davisgarrfuneralhome.com.
