John (Jack) William Fulkman 78, of Tidioute, Pa passed away on May 19th, 2026 surrounded by friends and family. He was born on January 29th, 1948 in New Castle, PA to parents John William Fulkman Sr. & Lillian Wilda (Reynolds) Fulkman. He married Barbara Lee Fulkman on May 18th, 1987.
Jack was proud to tell stories of his experiences from working in a cheese factory to owning hardware stores. Jack was a long term Tidioute resident whose presence was vital to the community. Jack served as a life member with the Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department since 1998 in many positions including Chief, and ambulance coordinator. He was also an EMS instructor, and served time as an EMT for Emergycare. Jack was also a small business owner and served the heating / cooling needs of his community with Fulkman HVAC.
Jack spent his time enjoying his interests and hobbies with his children. Raised on a farm, he loved gardening with his daughter, Johnelle. He enjoyed hunting with his son, Shawn; and took his vacations to Texas with to visit with his son Jack and family; shared his love of animals with his daughter, Janalee; and enjoyed pursuing sports and political conversations with his son, Chris. Jack especially enjoyed pulling pranks on his grandchildren. He spent all of the time he could with them and his beloved dogs, Rip & Elsa; as well as his cats, Pepper & Princess.
Jack’s most favorite pass time was cracking jokes and making people laugh. He always had a smile on his face and a good one liner in his pocket. He was a strong, willful, and loving father and Papa.
Jack is survived by five loving children. His three sons; Shawn H. Fulkman and his wife Amanda of Youngsville, PA; Dr. John (Jack) W. Fulkman III and his wife Dr. Deb Palazzi of Houston, Texas; and Christopher S. Fulkman of Tidioute, Pa. His two Daughters; Johnelle F. Berkhous and her husband Travis of Titusville, Pa; and Janalee Patton and Fiancé Rick Pierce of New Castle, Pa. Jack is also survived by 10 grandchildren whom he adored and enjoyed the most in his life; Zach Fulkman, Jake Fulkman, Hailey Fulkman, Gage Fulkman, Madison Berkhous, Reese Fulkman, Brielle Berkhous, Travis Berkhous Jr, and Vaeda Berkhous. One sister; Nancy L. Thompson (Dennis); two brothers; Gary L. Fulkman (Glenda), and Darrell L. Fulkman (Lisa.) Three Aunts; Donna Fury (Dick), Maryella Reed, and Sallie Mickle (Jim). Three Uncles; William Reynolds (Carol), Wayne Reynolds (Connie), and last but not least his lifelong best friend, Charles Reynolds (Barb.) in addition a niece, many nephews, and more cousins than you can count.
Jack was proceeded in death by his wife; Barbara Fulkman, his parents; John and Lillian Fulkman, an infant brother; Keith Wayne Fulkman, an Aunt; Shirley Reynolds, and one uncle; George Fulkman.
A memorial service will be held at the Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall on July 12, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm
