Javon W. Overton

Javon Wendale Overton, 23, affectionately known as Mookie, born November 23, 2002, in Erie PA, unexpectedly departed this life on March 17th, 2026.

Mookie was employed by Infinity Resources, an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved life, his family and playing basketball. He will always be remembered as a kind, respectful, helpful, humble and gentle soul. 

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Bishop Wesley W. Davis, Sr.

He is survived by and leaves to cherish his memory, his parents Latoya Davis and Dowan Overton Sr. Siblings James Stapp, Teeshanne, Jayden, Jerron and Jarrel Overton, Tywan Adams, Josiah McLaurin, Elijah Harris, Dejaniq, Jansen, Damari, J'zwan, Tiajaniq and Dowan Overton Jr, Erzon Williams and Jamie Gilmore, his dear maternal grandmother, Betty Jean Davis, paternal grandmother Theresa Overton, a host of loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins who were like siblings, Nieces and Nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, 1962 Buffalo Road Erie, Pennsylvania 16510 on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 11:00 AM to the time of service at 1:00 PM with Pastor Richard Davis and Pastor Anthony Lassiter officiating.
