James J. Wnukowski, Sr., 85, of North East died September 29, 2021, at his residence. Born October 25, 1935, in Erie, he was the son of the late Joseph and Florence (Kalinowski) Wnukowski and the husband of Barbara (Benedik) Wnukowski.
James retired from Hammermill and was a member of St. James Catholic Church. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his beloved wife, survivors include, children, James Wnukowski Jr. and wife, Sherry, of North East, Annette Krusewicz, Mary Wnukowski, and Kathleen Kirby: eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, John Wnukowski, Emil Wnukowski, Edmund Wnukowski , Jerome Wnukowski, George Wnukowski; sisters, Dorothy Jaruszewicz, Mariam Kanoza, and Joann Krysiak and a great grandson, Dash Makowski.
Family and friends will received Friday October 1, 2021, from 10 AM until the time of a Funeral Mass at 11 AM at St. James Church, 2635 Buffalo Road, Erie PA 16510, with Rev. Fr. James P. McCormick officiating.
Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Erie.
