James C. Steigmeyer

James C. “Curt” Steigmeyer, 70, of Erie, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at his residence. Born February 1, 1954, in Erie, he was the son of the late James and Theresa Mikielski Steigmeyer. He was a proud and loving grandfather, a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State football, enjoyed hunting and camping, and was an excellent chef who loved to cook for his family. He is remembered by many for his kindness and sense of humor. 

Besides his parents and mother and father-in-law Edward and Hedwig Klan Garr, he was preceded in death by his son Christopher Ryan Steigmeyer, brothers Loren and Craig Steigmeyer, and brother-in-law James Sult. Survivors include his wife of 41 years Jane Garr Steigmeyer, daughters Tina (Dave) Litz and Helen (Sean) Ehlers. Also survived by grandchildren Megan, Oscar, and Elliot Litz; Chloe and Jessica Ehlers; sisters Lynne Maetz, Laura Brewer and Leslie Sult; brothers Scott Steigmeyer and Lane Steigmeyer; many nieces, nephews and cousins and family.

Relatives and friends may call at the Davis - Garr Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., 459 East 12th Street, Erie, PA 16503, Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Services will be at the funeral home on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
