James Stuart Purves, 67, of Cranesville, passed away on January 17, 2025, at his residence. He was born in 1957 in Detroit, Michigan, son of Cynthia (Seybert) Leggett and Jim Lee Purves.
James married his wife Lori (Snyder) Purves on November 23, 1986, in Dallas, Texas. A 1975 graduate, James attended school in Birmingham, Michigan. He earned his Journeyman License in 1980 and worked 35 years in the electrical field and was a proud member of IBEW local #56, Erie, Pa.
James enjoyed fishing, camping, snowmobiling and traveling up north. His favorite place was "sleeping bear dunes".
James is survived by his wife Lori and three children. Two sons, Ian and wife Kelly of Dallas, TX and Cory and wife Taylor of Cranesville, Pa, one daughter, Bridget Kingen of Conneaut, OH, two sisters, Elizabeth Moulton of Toledo, OH and Jennifer Powell of Phoenix, AZ, one brother, David Leggett of Toledo, OH, six grandchildren, Logan Purves, Avery Purves, Miles Purves, Chelsi Lago, Kaithan Kingen and Camryn Kingen and five great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will commence on February 23, 2025, at Madelines Restaurant, Cranesville, Pa from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
