Irene Rogers

Irene B. (Bozek) Rogers, 98, of Erie, passed away on August 1, 2024 at Sarah Reed Retirement Center. She was born in Lake Pleasant, Pa on May 21, 1926, daughter of the late Adam and Pauline (Godzwan) Bozek. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alois "Al" Rogers, four brothers, Anthony, John, Frank and Michael Bozek and three sisters, Sue Kitchen, Mary Radomski and Helen Zysk.

Irene worked at GE during the war. Later at Fuhrman and Brown and a few other places.

She was involved with her husband and son with Erie Clowns, she and her husband made Scapulars and served meals with Meals on Wheels for several years and made occasional trips to the casino and wineries. 

She is survived by her loving son, Martin Rogers and his wife Karen (Davis) Rogers and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Rosie Radomski and Jack Tell for taking Irene to doctor appointments and grocery shopping over the years plus a big thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Joe Prischak and Brenda Jackson for giving Irene her last big adventure in her life a road trip to Florida.  Thank you to Dr. Brian Lang and staff for taking care of Irene and the whole staff at Sarah Reed Senior Living for being there for mom during her good and bad days. We also want to thank Pam for all the years of doing Irene's hair to keep her looking beautiful and last but not least, we want to thank the employees of Interim Health Care and Hospice Service. Alyse, who saw mom every day plus Leslie and especially Jamie, who was there at the end to give Irene and her family the needed support. Thank you!

Relatives and friends may call Friday, August 9, 2024 at Davis-Garr Cremation Services, Inc., 459 East 12th Street, Erie, Pa 16503 from 4:00 pm till 7:00 pm. A prayer service will be at the funeral home Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Church, 509 East 26th Street, Erie, Pa 16504 at 10:00 am. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: St. John's Church, VA Hospital or donor's choice. Memorials may be sent to: davisgarrfuneralhome.com
