Herschel Eugene "Gene" Griffith, 73, of Summit Twp., Pa, passed away on April 27, 2024 at his residence. He was born in Linton, IN on November 2, 1950, son of the late Max Eugene and Barbara Jean (Hill) Griffith. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two daughters, Tabatha L. Griffith and Zabrina Griffith, one son, Herschel E. "Tiger" Griffith and one grandson, David Kline, II.
Herschel served in the U.S. Marine Corps., he was an Over the Road truck driver for many years, most recently he retired after 15 years from Erie Plating Co., as Plant Maintenance Manager.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Lee (Fisher) of Summit Twp. Pa, his children, Krista L. Griffith of Volant, Pa, Keri S. Mickel (Michael) of Millcreek Twp. Pa, Andrew M. Griffith (Jenny) of Richmond, Va and Matthew J. Griffith (Emily) of Fairview, Pa, one sister, Kathy Thacker of Linton, IN, 17 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, whom he loved each and everyone dearly, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, May 3,2024 at Davis-Garr Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., 459 East 12th Street, Erie, Pa 16503 from 4:00 pm until the time of his funeral service at 8:00 pm. Burial will be private. The family would like to thank Laura, Tracy, Janelle, Rich and Pastor D. Wells of Hospice Homecare.
