Grover L. Duck, 69, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026. He was born on July 14, 1956, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to the late Archie Lee Duck and Jessie Mae Thompson Duck.
Grover was a hardworking man who dedicated much of his life to providing for his family and contributing to his community. Over the years, he worked at General Electric, on the railroad, with Crenshaw Construction, and at Don John Shipyard. In addition to his professional work, he gave back through charitable projects with local churches, reflecting his generous spirit and willingness to help others.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Everett Duck, Lois Thompson, Ethel Mae Duck, and Brenda P. Woodard; as well as his nephew, Anthony Duck, and niece, Sheena Woodard.
Grover leaves to cherish his memory his loving daughter, Tabitha Crosby; his special friend, Veronica Thomas; and his surviving siblings, R.W. Hughes (Catherine), Lindora Duck (Theodore), and Rosalie Cosby. He is also remembered by a host of extended family members and friends who will deeply miss his presence.
Grover will be remembered for his warm personality and the joy he brought to those around him. He loved telling jokes, cooking meals for family and friends, playing cards, and listening to music. He especially treasured time spent with loved ones, often riding around town to visit and check in on everyone. He also enjoyed traveling and was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
His life was one of love, laughter, and connection. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and dedication to family that will never be forgotten.
Relatives and friends are invited to First Good Samaritan AME Zion Church, 3209 Pennsylvania Ave. Erie, Pennsylvania 16504 on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 10:00 AM to the time of his Homegoing Celebration at 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Davis-Garr Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc. 459 East 12th Street, Erie, Pennsylvania 16503.
