Gregory “GQ” Quinn, age 75, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his wife, children, and loved ones on February 11, 2026. He was born on June 26, 1950, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to the late Nellie Quinn Amos and Robert Herron.
Gregory was a man known for his infectious laughter and warm spirit. He deeply cherished time spent with his family and found joy in the simple pleasures of life reading his Bible, and listening to music. He also enjoyed watching his favorite television shows, playing pool, basketball and playing spades. He was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was deeply spiritual and religious, loved the Lord, and carried his faith with him throughout his life. In his younger years, Gregory’s love for music shined brightly as he served as the lead singer in a band known as The Emeralds, a role he took great pride in.
Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, Nellie Quinn Amos and Robert Herron; his stepfather, George Quinn; his brothers, Alvin Quinn, Richard Dunston, and Jeffrey Quinn.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Tracy Wardell-Quinn; his children, Gregory Allen Quinn, Kevin Quinn, Michael Jones, Ta’Laijah Quinn, Tasha Wardell-Butler (Ray), Damien Wardell, Ebony Wardell (Shannon), and Mary Wardell; his siblings, Yvette Johnson and Ira Quinn (Tina); His best friend/brother Jimmy Thomas(Michelle), sisters-in-love Shane Yarbrough, Shirley McLaurin, Ethel Connors, and Christine Jefferson; brothers-in-love Michael Wardell, and Harry Yarbrough Jr., and Terrance Yarbrough and; 26 loving grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and his faithful 4 legged grand pup, Minioko. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Gregory “GQ” Quinn will be remembered for his love of family, his unwavering faith, his laughter, his musical soul, and the joy he brought into the lives of all who knew him. His legacy of love, faith, and connection will live on through the many hearts he touched.
Family, friends and loved ones are invited to celebrate life with the family on February 28th, 2026, at Greater Calvary Full Gospel Baptist Church, 2624 German Street, Erie, Pennsylvania 16504 from 11:00 AM until the time of his Homegoing Celebration beginning at 1:00 PM. A repass will also be held at 956 East 19th Street immediately following services.
