Greg J. Stanko

It is with sadness we announce the death of Greg J. Stanko, age 58, of Erie on April 15, 2023, at St. Vincent hospital after an extended illness. Born on October 31, 1964, he is the son of the late Pearl (Pat) Stanko and George Stanko.

Greg grew up in Erie and found happiness in his relationship with his Savior Jesus Christ, his music, his pets, and in the many poems he has written over the years. He liked to refer to himself as “Rockin Greggy J” and had a smile that was contagious. He had a unique sense of humor, and he will be missed.

Greg was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl (Anderson) Stanko and brother, Gary Stanko.

He is survived by his father, George Stanko, brother George Stanko Jr. (Judy), sisters, Linda Hamilton (John), Gail Graham (Bruce), and Georgia Corklin. He is also survived by his Aunt Lucille, nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friend and caretaker, Rick Mead.
