Gertrude Wojtasik

Gertrude "Cookie" A. Wojtasik, 79, of Erie, passed away on July 28, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Erie, Pa on June 3, 1944, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Jaskiewicz Wojtasik. 

Cookie retired from General Electric after 36 years of service. She enjoyed volunteering at nursing homes, she was named volunteer of the year in 2015. She also enjoyed thrifty shopping and staying active.

She is survived by her son, Joseph Wojtasik, two granddaughters, Isabella Wojtasik and Alecz Jobinski, one sister, Dorothy Stadtmiller and a very dear friend Josie Reese, all of Erie, Pa.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to Davis-Garr Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., 459 East 12th Street, Erie, Pa 16503 on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at St. Stanislaus Church 516 East 13th Street, Erie, Pa 16503 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
