Gerald Smith

Gerald "Jerry" Smith, 71, of Erie, passed away peacefully after a long illness on March 26, 2025, at LECOM at Presque Isle. He was born in Erie, Pa on October 1, 1953, son of Dolores J. (Szparaga) Smith and the late Robert R. Smith.

In addition to his father, Jerry was preceded in death by his brothers, Stephen Smith, Robert Smith, Mark Smith and one Brother-in-Law, John Montroy.

Jerry made many friends. He walked everywhere and would do anything for anyone who asked. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and was a big St. Louis Cardinals fan. He also loved playing the lottery, drinking Pepsi and Gary's chocolate chip cookies. He was a member of several clubs, including the Huzar Club, Fulton Club and the Slovak Club.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings, Darlene Montroy, his twin brother Gary (Dolores) Smith, Christine McShane, all of Erie, Pa and Jeffrey (Tammie) Smith of Florida. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank everyone at LECOM and LECOM Hospice for the care they provided to Jerry.
