George W. Hilbert, 73, of Erie, passed away on January 18, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Erie, Pa on October 23, 1951, son of the late Michael and Mary (Galliger) Hilbert.
George was the last surviving sibling, he was the baby of the family. He served in the U.S. Marines, He retired from PennDOT after 34 years of service. He enjoyed, spending time with his family, fishing, listening to his scanner, was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and kept a meticulous yard.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Margaret Brooks, his children, Jeanette Bennett (Ed), Todd Brooks (Sonya), Rebecca Rickman, Jennifer Wentling, Tracy Minnis, Ryan Minnis, his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Blake, Syrina, Tabraya, Aaron, Louie, Kell, Jazmine, Jacob, Chase, Jayden, Jessica, Julia, Tahjaa, Little Aaron, Bayliejh and Nyla. He is also survived by his favorite niece, Berth Tomczak.
The family would like to thank Lakeland Hospice for the exceptional care they provided to George.
There will be no services. Arrangements are being handled by Davis-Garr Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., 459 East 12th Street, Erie, Pa 16503.
