Ms. Evelyn "Ping-Pom" Coleman, age 92 of Erie, passed away surrounded by family on June 11th, 2026. Born September 24th, 1933, in Erie, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Robert Robinson and Irene Finley. Evelyn graduated from Academy High School and later retired from Hammermill/ International Paper after 47 years of service. Her time was devoted to her faith and volunteering. She attended mass daily and was an active member of the Legion of Mary. Evelyn touched many lives donating her time to the Upper Room, prison ministry, and hospice service. She loved listening to music, watching tennis, and spending time with friends and family.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her son Michael Anthony Coleman Sr.; siblings Charlotte Keyes, Catherine Robinson, Carol Knight (Robert), and Loretta Capitol. She leaves to cherish her memory grandchildren, Michael Coleman Jr (Nefretiri) and Crystal Coleman; great-grandchildren Imani, Michael III, and Brooklyn; great-great-grandchildren Ahlani and Giovanni; siblings, Robert and Nadine; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 15th at St. Peters Cathedral, 230 W. 10th St., from 9am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10am. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery. Professional services were handled by Davis-Garr Cremation and Funeral Services 459 E. 12th St. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Lakeland Area Hospice at 10 Peninsula Dr. #B Erie, PA 16505.
