Eugene was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Bettyann Husband and Eugene Husband; his brother, James Husband; and his daughter, Asiya Roberts-Husband.
He is survived by his siblings—Ramona Johnson, Katrina Thompson, Tonya Husband, Leatrice Husband, Shala Husband, Rasheema Hemphill, Tyrone Husband, Marcel Husband, Taurus Husband, Rashaan Husband, Yolanda Jones, Shannon Jones and Brian Whitman. Eugene attended Academy High School and was known for his larger-than-life personality. He loved basketball—both watching and playing—and was a proud LeBron James fan. A loyal Dallas Cowboys supporter, Eugene never missed an opportunity to passionately argue that his team was better than anyone else’s.
He loved cracking jokes, spending time with his family—especially his Gene Bean—and enjoying any sweet treat. Eugene was known for his humor, his confidence in always being right, and his ability to light up any room he entered. He was a kind and generous man who would give his last to help anyone.
Eugene’s laughter, love, and unforgettable spirit will live on through the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
