Elaine Marie (Markiewicz) Tomczak

Elaine Marie (Markiewicz) Tomczak Loving Wife, Mother, Grandma, Great-Grandma & Friend Elaine Marie (Markiewicz) Tomczak, 80, of Erie passed away on Monday, April 17th, 2023, after a brief illness at St. Vincent Hospital.
She was born on May 13th, 1942, in Erie, the daughter of the late Stanley and Jean (Kinecki) Markiewicz. She was a proud graduate of St. Stanislaus School and St. Benedict Academy. 
She was a lifetime member of St. Stanislaus Church. An avid bingo player, her favorite places to play were St. Paul’s and Belle Valley. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandsons. Elaine was a light in the world; she was the kindest, most humble woman and had a profound impact on all of the lives she touched. She helped us all to “love one another,” as the love she radiated was infectious. She will be sorely missed.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Eugene Patrick Tomczak, infant granddaughter, Mia Angela Tomczak, brother, Stanley Markiewicz, Jr., mother- and father-in-law Leo and Veronica Tomczak, and brothers- and sisters-in-law Jerome and Frances, Raymond and Clara, Leonard, Geraldine, Robert and Joan, Patrick and Rose Tomczak, John and Joan Oldenski, and Mitchell Oblinski.
She is survived by her three daughters: Pamela Pohl (Christopher) of Pittsburgh, PA, Sheila Woll (Robert) and Cheryl Majewski (Mark) both of Erie; her son Eugene Tomczak II (Laura) of Apex, NC; nine grandchildren: Julie (fiancé Chris Bickel) and James Pohl, Bethany DiRaimo (Dominic), Erika Puda (Matthew), Nickolas Woll, Mark II and Rachel Majewski, Reagan and Eugene III “Tripp” Tomczak; great-grandsons: Giovani and Vincenzo DiRaimo; brother-in-law Daniel Tomczak and sisters-in-law Theresa Tomczak and Louise Oblinski; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call at the Davis-Garr Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., 459 East 12th Street, Erie, PA 16503, on Thursday, April 20th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday, April 21st from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home on Saturday, April
22nd at 9:30 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church. Burial will be at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
