Dorothy Jean "Dottie" Tamulavage, 76, passed into a place of eternal rest on January 29, 2026, in Erie, Pennsylvania, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on April 4, 1949, in Platea, Pennsylvania, along with her twin brother Dennis Kuvik. Her life was marked by deep compassion, artistic talent, and unwavering love for both people and animals. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel valued and cherished—often putting their needs above her own. Even in times of personal hardship, she chose love and kindness as her guiding principles.
Dottie shared 36 devoted years together with her beloved husband, Stephen Tamulavage. She is also remembered by her children: Charles Thomas Dodds Jr., Timothy John Dodds, and Tammy Leigh (Ryan) Mannon. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Trezla Nunemaker, Sierra Dodds, Charlie Dodds; Rachel Mannon, Jenna Mannon, Kelsey Mannon, and Nathaniel Mannon. Dottie also leaves behind her twin brother Dennis Kuvik and several nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
Her spiritual family at the Kingdom Hall brought her great joy and fellowship throughout the years. The bonds she formed there were deeply meaningful to her.
Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, three cherished sisters: Delores McDonald, Janet English, and Debbie Pernice, and a Nephew Darrin Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.
A gifted artist, Dottie expressed herself through creativity that inspired those around her. One of her most treasured projects was painting a mural on a granddaughter’s bedroom wall—a lasting symbol of the love she poured into every brushstroke. She encouraged creativity in all of her grandchildren and found joy in nurturing their imaginations.
Her generosity knew no bounds; she was often thinking of ways to give gifts “just because.” Whether it was a thoughtful token or a kind word at just the right moment, Dottie's gestures left lasting impressions on those fortunate enough to know her. Her love extended beyond people to animals as well—both pets and wildlife found a gentle friend in Dottie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ANNA Shelter at 1555 E. 10th St., Erie, PA 16511—a cause close to Dottie's heart.
