Donna Rebecca Long was born on February 25, 1953, in Erie, Pennsylvania. She was called home to the Lord on January 23, 2026.
Donna was preceded in death by her father, James “Diz” Long; her mother, Martha Robinson; her aunt, Sylvia Thurston; her sister, Denise Nevins; her brother, Daniel Butler; and her nephew, Julian Jones.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter and son-in-law, Kelsey and Karl Simon; her beloved granddaughters, Kennedy and Karlie Simon; her sister, Deborah Barnes; her sister-in-law, Vanessa Butler; her cousin, Jacqueline Love; her nieces and nephews, Christopher, Kimberly, Candra, Charon (Mark), Jason, and Jozlynn; seven great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of lifelong friends.
Donna graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1971 and briefly attended Edinboro University. In her early years, she worked as a telephone operator for Bell telephone company. She also gave of her time as a volunteer at the Florence Crittenton Home.
A faithful servant of God, Donna previously worshiped at Second Baptist Church, Greater Calvary Baptist Church, and Victory Christian Center. At the time of her passing; Mother Donna Long was a proud, active, and devoted member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
Donna will be remembered for her caring and generous heart, her unwavering faith in the Lord, and her genuine love for people. She had a passion for shopping, a gift for hospitality both in and out of the kitchen, exquisite penmanship, and an eloquent way with words. She was also known for her endless candy supply.
True to her nature, Donna never missed a moment. She made it her mission to send a card for EVERY occasion, ensuring that everyone she loved felt remembered and cherished.
Her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in all who knew her.
