A Granddaughter's Tribute to my grandma, Donna Decker Joint.

On February 20, 2026, our family said goodbye to the woman who held us all together, my beautiful grandma.

She was 98 years old and what a blessing it was to have her with us for so many years. To the world she was Donna, to us she was grandma, our comfort, our safe place, our steady prayer warrior. Grandma was a woman of deep faith. She didn't just attend church she lived her faith every single day. Her trust in God carried her through nearly a century of life, through joy, heartbreak, loss, and countless blessings. Even after losing her beloved husband Robert, her daughter Brenda, and her two sons Robert Jr, and William she remained strong. Her faith never wavered. She showed us what it looks like to lean on God no matter what. When I think of her, I think of her gentle eyes and the quiet strength behind them. I think of the way she looked at us with unconditional love that didn't need to be spoken. Being around her felt like home. She leaves behind her grandchildren Hope, myself Chastity, Jen and Tj. And Robert the 3rd, along with many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, who were blessed to know her love. Her legacy isn't just in our name, it's in the way we love, the way we pray, and the way we care for one another. She covered generations in prayer, she loved deeply, she endured faithfully, she taught us that family is everything. It's hard to imagine life without her here physically, but we find comfort knowing she is reunited with Bumpa and her children, resting peacefully in the arms of the lord she served so faithfully. Grandma thank you for your love. Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for being ours. We will carry you in our hearts forever.
