Dionne A. Akins

Dionne A. Akins, 46, formerly of Erie, passed away on October 28, 2021 in Richmond, Va. She was born December 14, 1974, daughter of the late Jacqueline Delle Akins Poston and Claude Allen, Jr.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Malik Williams, her grandparents, Rev. Emory D. and Zola Akins and her aunt Betty Dykes.

She was employed by Anthem BCBS in Richmond. She studied at Portis College. She enjoyed playing cards, doing hair and most of all, singing.

She is survived by her stepfather, Merrell Poston, four brothers, James Akins, Eric Akins, Douglas Akins and Quinton Akins (Christa Venard), stepbrothers, Merrell Timmons and Marcus Poston, stepsister, Alexandria Timmons, Aunt, Havana Rollins, Cousins, Dee, Tonya, Tony, and Berry Akins, Phil and Robby Dykes, best friend, Ebony Crowell and several nieces and nephews.
