Devonne Marie Thomson – Johnson, lovingly known as “J.C.” passed away on May 2, 2024, in her hometown of Erie, pa. She was born on June 13, 1970, born to the late Jake and Carole Thomson and her Biological father, the late Sidney “Sonny” Crosby, also of Erie.
JC had a variety of interests and hobbies, her true passion was basketball, which she excelled at during her high school years. She also had a deep love for music, particularly Teena Marie, and she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and shopping. Above all JC Cherished her role as a mother to her beloved daughter Domino Mikayla Johnson.
In her leisure time JC would be found watching comedy movies, a pastime that brought her great joy. Professionally, she dedicated many years to working in home health, providing care and support to those in need. JCs proudest accomplishment was being a mother.
She was preceded on death by her stepdaughter Cynthia D. Johnson with whom she was very close with and her brother, Sonny Hatfield. She is survived by her husband Obsy Johnson, who stood beside her throughout their journey, In addition to her daughter, Domino, JC is survived by her step daughters, Tonya Festa, Tia Johnson, and Kobie Hervey. Stepsons Sean Lyons, Steve Jones, Rashada Johnson, and Michael Johnson. She is also survived by her siblings Jennifer Zulu, Dr. Shelby Crosby, Paula Slupski, Eugene Crosby, Minister Sidney Crosby, Jason Hatfield, Jeff Crosby, and Martin Porter. JC is further survived by her sister in law Peggy McKinney, and brothers in law, James Harley and Lee McKinney. She leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren whose lives she touched with her love and guidance. Lastly JC is survived by her lifelong best friend Roseanna “Monique” Wayne.
Devonne Marie Thompson Johnson will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved and touched throughout her life.
