DeShawn Courtney Allen, Sr.

DeShawn Courtney Allen Sr., age 48, of Erie, Pennsylvania, was called home on September 26, 2025. He was born in Erie on March 26, 1977, to his mother, Charlene Crosby.

DeShawn was a loving father, devoted fiancé, caring son, brother, and an amazing grandfather. Family was at the center of his life, and he found his greatest joy in spending time with his children, grandchildren, and loved ones. He especially treasured teaching his grandchildren sports, taking them to games, and showing them new things.

A true sports fan, DeShawn loved football and basketball—especially cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the San Antonio Spurs. He also enjoyed listening to music, relaxing with friends, and creating special memories with those closest to him. His love for his fiancé, Andrea “Aon” Harris, was deep and unwavering, and their bond was an important part of his life.

DeShawn leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Charlene Crosby; his beloved fiancé, Andrea “Aon” Harris; his children: DeShawn Allen Jr., Rashad “Shawnee” Allen, Daishawnsa Allen, Ashanti Allen, and Rajean Allen; his stepchildren: Shannon Mathis Jr., Shataya Mathis, and Shanique Mathis; his brothers: Charles Prescott Jr. and Marvin Sanders; his sister, Carlina Mitchell; his grandmother, Ruth Ranson; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Justin Prescott, and his stepson, Deonte Tate.

DeShawn will be remembered for his big heart, his love of sports and music, and most of all, the love he gave to his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
