David "Bunzi" Stablein

David Stablein "Bunzi", 84, of Erie, Pennsylvania, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior surrounded by the love of his family.

David was born on July 9, 1941, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to the late Otto Stablein and Dorothy Crawford Pollard. He lived a life marked by faith, hard work, devotion to family, and kindness toward everyone he met.

David proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1962 as a marksman and rifle coach. After his military service, he dedicated many years to General Electric before retiring.

David found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved painting and creating artwork, collecting and painting knick-knacks, having camp fires, doing a puzzle, feeding the birds, hunting—especially squirrels—and spending time trout fishing. He was a devoted sports fan who never missed an opportunity to cheer on his beloved Browns or enjoy NASCAR. Season ticket holder for 50 years with Gannon University Golden Knights. Whether outdoors, watching a game, or sharing stories with family, David appreciated every moment.

More than anything, David was a man of deep faith. His love for the Lord and his unwavering devotion to Jesus Christ were the foundation of his life. He lived his faith through his actions, showing compassion, generosity, and love to those around him. He had a gentle spirit and a kind heart that touched everyone who knew him. To his family and friends, David was a source of strength, wisdom, and unconditional love.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto Stablein and Dorothy Crawford Pollard; his brothers, William Stablein and Gary Stablein; and his sisters, Anna Brown and Diane Stablein.

David is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Valencia Summers Stablein; his sons, David Stablein (Crystal) and Brian Stablein; his daughters, Michelle Maria Stablein Buie, Tammy Lorraine Stablein (Jay), Lisianna Shearer (Jeff), Jennifer Ann Stablein (Bill), Becky Dawn Stablein, and Shelly Lynn Stablein; his brothers, Otto Stablein, Kenneth Stablein, and Harold Palmatier (Mary Fran); his sisters, Audrey Varish, Linda Stevenson, and Patty Stablein Hennick (Larry); and his many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that David's faith has become sight and that he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior. His legacy of love, faith, kindness, and devotion to family will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know him.
