Daniel W. Turek passed peacefully from this life surrounded by his loving family on February 9, 2023 after a brief illness.
Daniel was born In Erie on April 8, 1944, the son of Frances (Wedzack) Turek and Walter Turek. He graduated from Tech Memorial High School in 1963 and remained an Erie resident for his life time.
Daniel married Carol (Kwiatkowski) Turek in 1965 and together they raised two beautiful daughters. They were light of his life. Carol and Dan were married 37 years until her death in 2002.
Daniel enjoyed traveling every year to Florida to feel the sunshine on his face after several long months of cold Erie weather. He traveled to various places with his daughters and their children. He loved spending time at Presque Isle. He stated many times that his first trip to the beach was as an infant as his parents spent many weekends picnicking there. He never tired of his rides around the Peninsula, taking in all its splendor. Dan was a long suffering Cleveland Browns fan and loved playing and watching golf on television. He also could spend hours watching Animal Plant. But most of all, Dan was happiest spending time with his family and his significant other. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son-in-law and father-in-law. He supported his grandchildren’s activities, sometimes traveling many miles to see a game. He was a true family man.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol, brother, Jimmy, and sisters, Connie and Carol, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Helen and Alios Kwiatkowski.
Left to honor his memory are his daughters, Michelle (Fred) Foulks of South Bend Indiana, and Angela Alexander (Jeff) of Pittsburgh, PA, his grandchildren, Rachael (Dalton) Stark, Matthew Foulks, Troy Alexander and Connor Alexander, great grandchildren, Sofia Stark and Noah Stark. He is further survived by his devoted companion, Kathleen Fross, with whom he shared a loving relationship.
Family and friends are invited to Davis - Garr Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc. 459 East 12th Street, Erie, Pennsylvania 16503 on Sunday, February 12, 2023, from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm with his Service beginning at 2:00 pm
