Dale P. Anderson

It is with great peace, yet great sorrow, that our father, Dale P. Anderson, was invited to his eternal life on October 19, 2024, at the age of 72. Dale was born on September 25, 1952, and brought joy, recovery, and spiritual guidance to all those with whom he shared deep coffee talks. As an advocate for those in recovery and those who suffered mental health, working in various non-profits Dale found his home and true calling working among and with the men of the Maria House Project; a home mission in the Diocese of Erie, founded by Fr. James Peterson, providing a spiritual community for healing. 

Dale had a passion for many things in this life including golf, particularly with his son David, military history, politics- if you know, you know, cooking and in particular the best homemade pie crusts, and of course, an unwavering dedication and resiliency in his life-long love for the Cleveland Browns. 

Through his own challenges, Dale found comfort and deep gratitude in being of service to those in need. Having made Cursillo, his commitment to Christ, his brothers in recovery, and walking a faith-based life were strengthened.

Dale is survived by his mother, Delores Anderson, children, Douglas Anderson,  Dana Albers (Robb) grandchildren Nicholas and Jonathan, David Anderson, grandchildren Jennessa and Jacelyn, Dayle Anderson (Joshua) , grandchildren Eva and Silas. Dale is also survived by his brother Herbert Jr. (Pamela) Anderson, Marguerite (William) Heintz, Phyllis Anderson, and Elaine Redinger in addition to many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dale was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Anderson, and brothers Jake and Joe Anderson.

Relatives and friends are invited to Davis – Garr Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc. 459 East 12th Street, Erie, Pennsylvania 16503 on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 2:00 PM to – 4:00 PM and Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Father Pete's Lodge, 630 Hyde Road, Spartanburg, Pennsylvania 16434 for Mass and a Celebration of Life beginning at 12:30PM with fellowship dinner to follow.
We ask in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Maria House Project (P.O. Box 10682 in Erie, PA 16514) where he managed the Wilkum House for the last decade.
