Constantine Peter "Gus" Laskaris, 59, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024, at UPMC Hamot from a stroke due to complications stemming from a heart condition he had had for quite some time.
Gus was born on October 2, 1965, in Buffalo, New York, to the late Despina "Daisy" (Condos) Laskaris & Peter Laskaris.
When Gus was around four years old, his family moved to Erie where they remained. Gus graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1983 and went on to Tri-State Institute, where he graduated with a degree in HVAC.
Gus had several different jobs throughout his life until he started his HVAC business later on in life and worked as the neighborhood handyman until his passing. Whatever your problem was, chances were that Gus could fix it. Gus had many talents and loved sharing his knowledge and skills with his neighbors, friends, and family.
Gus was a people person. He was definitely unique, one of a kind and someone that is unforgettable once you met him. He loved helping. He cared deeply about everyone and was rarely seen without a smile and a joke to tell his friends. Gus loved to cook, but more than anything, he loved spending time with family and friends. Sharing a homecooked meal and some good conversation was his favorite way to spend an evening at home.
In addition to his parents, Gus was preceded in death by his best friend and brother, Andrew Laskaris. His sister, Barbara (Laskaris) Ghazal, a half-sister, Jolee Robinson, and a nephew, Andrew Laskaris Jr.
Gus is survived by a brother, John Laskaris, a half-sister, Bridgette Brown Williams, his ex and mother of his son, Gloria Bishop, a long time friend of the family and love of his life, Leah Terella, his brother-in-law, Hayward Cox, his son Michael Constantine Krayeski, his daughter, Kimmie Smith, his grandchildren, Julian, Noelle, Ava Rose,& Noah Krayeski, Lily Smith, his nephews, Adam Laskaris, Alex Pasqualini, Sullivan Williams and his Niece, Irene Williams. He also has cousins Thomas, Andrew, and Potoula Condos in Canada. Andrew Brindisi of Buffalo, New York and Irini Asimakopoulos in Greece.
Relatives and friends are invited to the House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church 155 East 21st Street, Erie, Pennsylvania 16503 on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
