Beth R. (Hemmer) Durante

Beth Durante, age 60, of Fairview, passed away on Friday, June 4th, 2021 at UPMC Hamot.
Beth was born in Endicott, NY on March 8th, 1961, daughter of Jean Hemmer and the late Bruce Hemmer.
Beth is survived by her husband Joseph Durante, her two daughters Jessica and Leslie Durante, her two sisters Cynthia Eckman and Susan Hemmer, her niece Jocelyn Reesman, and her nephew Chris Eckman.
Beth was an avid gardener. When the sun was shining and the time was right, you could find her in yard work clothes with a glass of iced tea close by, toiling away at the ground. A variety of flowers strewn about her property in Lake Shore is proof of her love of gardening.
Beth also enjoyed playing and watching tennis. She was quite displeased every time the local channels didn’t air the entirety of the big tennis tournaments.
Cooking was another one of Beth’s many talents. As cooking became challenging later in life, she would not hesitate to “backseat cook” whenever her daughters and husband were making dinner.
Anyone who came into contact with Beth could attest to her loud personality. It’s reported that her laugh could be heard clear across 6 tennis courts. She was the best cheerleader, soccer mom, party thrower, and song quoter anyone could have encountered and she will be sorely missed.
A public celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Orphan Angels at 5439 West Lake Rd Erie PA, 16505.
