Bernard J. "Bernie" Tuszynski, 88, of Erie, passed away on July 8, 2025, at Brevillier Village, Ball Pavillion. He was born on December 11, 1936, son of the late Andrew and Constance (Malanowski) Tuszynski.
He attended St. Stanislaus Elementary and East High School and served in the U.S. Army National Guard for six years. He retired from FMC Technologies after 31 years of service. He was a life member of St. Stanislaus Church and the Siebenbuerger Club. He liked making sweet bread, pizzelles, pierogi and soups. Bernie also enjoyed home remodeling, Lionel/HO trains, summer vacations at Dohler's cottages, which were reunions with family and friends.
Known as Dzia Dzia, he especially loved spending time with many grandchildren and activities such as, dance reviews, miniature golf, pinewood derbies, trips to Waldameer and the zoo.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Edmund and Daniel, sisters-in-law, Dorothy Tuszynski and Shirley Walkiewicz and a brother-in-law, Chet Walkiewicz.
Bernie is survived by the love of his life, Barbara with whom they just celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. He has two wonderful children, Brenda Tomczak (Mike)and Bernard, Jr. (Melissa), brother-in-law, Henry Pilgere (Julie), sister-in-law, Debra Schnell (Gary), loving grandchildren, Candace Freyer (Craig), Leo Tomczak, Tyler Tuszynski and a great grandson, Zachary Freyer and several nieces and nephews.
God has you in his arms we have you in our hears until we meet again.
Relatives and friends are invited to St. Stanislaus Church, Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 10:00 am until the time of his funeral mass at 11:00 am. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery with full Military Honors. Arrangements are being handled by Davis-Garr Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., 459 East 12th Street, Erie, Pa 16503.
