Amor Mourtat Obituary

Amor Mourtat, age 32, passed away on June 17, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and laughter that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew her.

Amor was born on May 16, 1994, in Khartoum, Sudan. At a young age, she moved to Egypt before immigrating to the United States at the age of three, where she was raised and built a life devoted to her family and caring for others. She attended St. John the Baptist School and East High School before continuing her education at Pittsburgh Job Corps and Great Lakes Institute of Technology in Erie, Pennsylvania. There, she earned her STNA certification and specialized in caring for residents living with dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

She dedicated many years to working in nursing homes, where her compassion, patience, and warm spirit touched countless residents and their families. Her commitment and hard work led her to become an Activity Director, a role she embraced with pride. In recent years, she chose to step away from her career to devote more time to raising her children, who were the greatest joy of her life.

Above all else, Amor was a loving and devoted mother to Karter Dixon and Kayden Mourtat, who were the center of her world. She is lovingly remembered by her mother, Mariam Gakmar; her siblings, Foub Mourtat, Achot Mourtat, Tabissa Mourtat, and Matim Mourtat; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon Mourtat, and her beloved nephew, Machol Bol.

Amor will be remembered for her radiant smile, infectious laugh, and remarkable ability to bring joy to those around her. She had a heart for serving others, loved spending time with her family, and cherished every moment with her children. Her kindness, strength, and unconditional love will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
