Tyrone S. Salter, Sr.

Tyrone Scott Salter, Sr., age 65, of Erie, departed this life June 1, 2021.  He was born on January 21, 1957, to the late Walter Bassham and Annie Mae Salter.

Tyrone was a member of New Life and Spirit Revival Center.  A true believer in Christ.  He attended East High School, loved the Baltimore Ravens and was a true fan.  He loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.  Their Papa was truly special to them.  He also loved to dance and could make anyone laugh, even if they didn’t want to laugh.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two daughters, Cynthia Jean Salter Williams and Ciara Salter, sister Phyllis E.  Bassham, and nephew Michael Salter, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 24 years, Irvina Salter, 11 children, Tyrone Salter, Jr., Tyree Salter, Tyshawn Salter, Tyzan Salter, Tywan Salter, Tyria Salter, Latoya Salter, Tabatha Robinson, Latressa Martin (Emmanuel), Tia Henley (Christopher), and Esther Oquenda, 46 grandchildren, God children Jackie Jr., Tiffany, Henry, Dorothy Williams, and Tanisha Nicole Keith, seven siblings, Patricia Poston, Kenneth Walter, Irene, Geraldine, Michael, Dolores Salter, a very close cousin who is like a brother, Thomas Saunders, a special uncle Larry Salter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Following all current Covid-19 guidelines, including masks required for all in attendance, visitation will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at New Life and Spirit Revival Center, 315 E. 9th St., Erie, PA 16503 from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 pm.  Family and friends may also attend the service virtually via Facebook Live at https://www.facebook.com/Edward-J-Garr-Funeral-Home-Inc-100130284712299/.  Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery.
